FeiMing's novel The Bridge has been acclaimed as an "unprecedented" and "original" book. This novel creation emphasized the sentimental realm of profound significance which was deeply influenced by classical Chinese poetry and poetic prose. On the basis of careful reading of the text, this thesis tried to analysis the novel by the Western spatial narrative theory and Chinese theory of sentimental realm in order to establish a brand-new spatial narrative frame of Chinese modern novels. This thesis consisted of four main parts: The first part analyzed the interspatial narrative structure. We found the author depicted many beautiful pictures to convey a poetical vivid circumstance and pursued an implicit visionary beauty and the story is almost lost. The second part discussed the scenic narration and we found that in his works, space did not merely refer to geographical space but was the poetic and fanciful space . The third part analyzed the implication space including the visible space, the spiritual space, the fanciful space , the dreamful space and the people space. Their common character was pointing to the imaginable fanciful world from the visible phenomena .The last part discussed on the sentimental realm beauty of Feiming's the Bridge and the author how to make a noticeable contribution to the spatial narrative theory.
