Arab League 's Evolution (1945-1989), The Palestinian Policy

The issue of Palestine is the core of Arab-Israeli conflict. Studies about it before are more concerned about the position of the United States or Israel, less about that of the whole Arab states. So I try to demonstrate the development of policy from the League of Arab states ([A]Arab league), namely that of whole Arab states, about the Palestine from 1945 to 1989. In the period, the basic change of policy of Arab League about Palestine , which is from war to peace , is helpful to resolve this issue as soon as possible . The thesis is including the preface, the text and the conclusion. And the text is divided into four parts.Part 1, Arab League was founded and adopted the policy of about Palestine(1945-1967). Arab League objected Israel founding their state and supported the people of Palestine taking up armed stuggle to safeguard the right of their self-determination. After Israel was founded in 1948, Arab states in the name of Arab League declared war to Israel. Since then, Arab-Israel conflict .which began at the end of 19^th century, had developed the conflicts between the states and continued nowadays. And the issue of Palestine is a fact knot in the conflict.Part 2, Arab League adopted the policy of "three No's" for Israel and supported Palestine Liberation Organization([A]PLA)(1967-1973). The failure of "Six-day war" made Arab states rethinked the policy to Israel before.The change had taken place to the policy of Arab League about Israel. For Arab states, the zeal supporting the liberation of the people of Palestine began to descend. And the PLA took up armed struggle for Israel's occupation more independently than before.Part3, Arab League's attitude and reaction to the Egypt-Israel i peace talk(1973-1979) .The Egypt-Israeli peace talk deepened the difference in the Arab world and led to Arab league split. Because of Israel's objection and America's shelter, the issue of Palestine was layed aside. But the peace talk started the prelude of middle east peace.Since then, this is a trendency to achieve peace in the middle east.Part 4,The adjust of policy of Arab League and development of issue of Palestine(1979-1989). The "Fez plan" in 1982 marked that the policy of Arab league about Palestine had finished the change from war to peace. But split of Arab League, Lebaneon war and Iraq-Iran war, added to objection of Israel, the peace process of middle east hadn't less achievment in 1980s. Although Palestine had been declared to found in1988,but how to achieve the Palestine-Israeli peace had a long way.In a word, the basic change of Arab League about Palesitine showed the change from war to peace for Arab-Israeli conflict. And at last the issue of Palestine, which is resolved fairly, still need Arab unity and reformation of Arab League.
