India is one of the non-socialist countries which are the first to recognize the new china. But the relationship between the two countries, affected by the Tibet issue for a long period of time, cannot develop normally. The main reason lies in the impact of the policy of Nehru's administration on the Tibet issue. It not only seriously affected the relationship between the two countries at the time, but also set the keynote of the Indian policy on Tibet. The Nehru administration adopted the policy of threatening china with the Tibet issue. After independence, Nehru Administration inherited the heritage of the British and Indian government in Tibet and denied the China's sovereignty over Tibet. Although the Indian government recognized that Tibet was part of China in Sino-Indian Agreement signed in 1954, it still support the Dalai clique to engage in separatist activities in China with an attempt to make Tibet a buffer country between India and China. The Nehru administration's doing in various ways culminated in the outbreak of the border conflict between the two countries in 1962. Since then, Sino-Indian relations have been stuck into a deadlock. Although it has minor changes in the policy on the Tibet issue.Today's Indian government basically inherits the policy of Nehru's administration. The solution of the Tibet issue finally depends on whether the Indian government gives up the policy of threatening china with the Tibet issue.
