In the recent 20 years, the research about achievement goals is developing, studying the reasons underlying the learning behaviors. The achievement goals are the one the individual pursuing in learning process, which will affect the learning behaviors, learning affection and achievement. Using interview and questionnaire method, the research explored the content and development of pupils' achievement goals in learning. Based on these results, the research explored the basic factor of avoiding criticism/approach praise as well. The results showed:1) The basic factors of pupils' learning purpose was to avoid criticism/approach praise, winning glory, to be outstanding, thanks giving, fulfill dream, self-perfection, and the important one was to avoid criticism/approach praise.2) The pupils possess more learning goals than performance goals.3) There was significant differences in achievement goals in learning and the goal orientation between students in grade one and other grades.4) Learning goals were elicited by process praise.
