Various presumptions upon the future of literature emerged during the end of the last century. Five years later, a large number of works appeared and some 1000 river novels were made, good or less good. Fiction Academy of China arranged a list of novels, by evaluating their value in history, humanity and artistic charms, to establish a system, in which, in the period 2000-2004, 124 works, by 89 writers, can be found, which serves as the typical 1st hand material for characterizing the overall developing trend of the new-century literature.Targeting works on the list, consulting those written after 1990s, based upon a great deal of reading, I sociologically and statistically got a restricted view in various characteristics of the newly-century literature.Developed from the newly-period literature, especially one after the 1990s, while undertaking the tradition, the newly-century fiction is gaining a series of new characters such as the subrogation and the geographical change of writers, the growing up of the Western and individualized writing, the "inexperienced narration", the concern about the daily lives of individuals living in the bottom of the class and so on.
