Gu Ying Mentality Study

This thesis carries thorough study upon the formation, development of Gu Ying's mentality and pays much attention to his different life stages in which it appears various performances. At the same time, this thesis also explains the special mentality and great influence of Ying through introducing his background, local culture, encounter and poem composition. From this kind of study, Ying was put in the time of the ending of Yuan dynasty and the beginning of the Ming dynasty and was also put in the Wuzhong sergeant group . This really helps us understand his poem composition and mentality. This thesis is divided into three parts. The first part talks about the surroundings of that time during which Gu Ying lived. It includes his attitude to the government, his pattern of life, his characteristics and region belief, which is in order to find out the influence on Gu Ying and Yu Shan writers.The second part puts the emphasis on the composition of Gu Ying's poems. Through analyzing his encounter, this part also discusses the change of Gu Ying's materials and fattens of composition, and traces the road of his mentality development.The third part, from the angle of Wuzhong sergeant group, focuses on the special influence of Gu Ying's mentality and also gives a proper conclusion on this.Through all above, this thesis explains two important questions in all. First, Gu's main mentality is neither active to the society, nor negative, but fit the society. That is to say, Gu liked a kind of life that he could live not only freely but also elegantly. He wanted to go back to the nature , meanwhile, he also payed much attention to concrete enjoyment. Second, the mentality of Wuzhong took great influences on that of Gu Ying. On the other hand, as a famous poet of the later Yuan dynasty, Gu also gives much influence on the the sergeant fashion in Wuzhong.
