Language is one of the important carriers of human culture. This paper aims to explore historical and cultural connections as well as the orbit of social changes of the two fraternal nationalities by way of a comparative study on the common words in the field of material, institutional and spiritual civilizations of Manchu and Hezhen languages. Besides revealing the influence of social changes on the national language civilization, it also aims to bring to light the common laws and differences of the common words evolution when the two languages are in different ecological and social environments. On the basis of a great many language materials and historical documents, the paper makes an analysis on the reasons why Manchu and Hezhen languages are on the edge of extinction, and puts forward some ways to rescue the two languages.
