On The Prokofiev Piano Sonata Iv "lyricism

This article analyses Prokofiev's'The Fourth Piano Sonata'by theme, harmony, form and texture. In order to expound and proved that there are 3 important principles for Prokofiev's composition——classical, modern and lyrical. These 3 principles are independence, but also join and influence each other. It shows the characteristic of Prokofiev's early music——always explore the new way to compose. In the Fourth Sonata, lyrical is the most important characteristic. This paper emphasizes how to show the lyrical characteristic in this sonata. In this music, the lyrical theme is very simple, easy, directly, intrinsic and contrast. When we perform the music, we should be care of the sound and balance, do not just'hitting the keyboard'. This paper also helps to show the composer's lyrical in a right way by explained and analyses keyboard technique. Last, writer wish after reading this paper people can recognize that Prokofiev's piano music also can be very lyrical and beautiful.
