In the past, the research and discussion on the changes of novels' art in the new age are focused on the applications of creation methods, and such things are given plentiful attention as the art forms of absurdity, magic illusion, transfiguration etc and the changes of narration styles and languages. This thesis assumes that there is a common law hidden behind the complicated forms of novels art of the new age-the pursuit of creation subjects for the unrealistic writing. This model breaks the domination of the traditional realistic writing and brings a revolution to the writing manners of novels. Current work fails to style and research all the elements of unrealistic writing appearing in novels. But with the references to the literary creation this thesis supports that unrealistic writing is a new method that can not be ignored in the creation of novels in the new age, and this method shows a fundamental revolution of writers' creation idea. How do writers break the domination of realistic writing in the works before the Cultural Revolution, and conflate the unrealistic elements into their works, what kind of ideas are shown about the authors through these elements, and what kind of esthetic elements are added to the creation of novels; all these will be discussed with a strong emphasis in this thesis. Through the explication of some typical works this thesis concludes that the pursuit of the unrealistic writing in the novels of the new age brings the literary esthetic subject back. Nowadays novels creation returns to the old days when realistic writing dominates this field, which arouses a new round of meditation on how to write novels. This thesis includes, besides the preface and the conclusion, three chapters. In the first chapter, the presentation of unrealistic narration in novels are discussed; in the second chapter, the literary environment, the creation subjects and the effects of the foreign cultures are discussed to discover the inner and outer reasons of the pursuit of this narration method; in the third chapter, the changes of novels esthetic meanings brought about by the pursuit of unrealistic narration are discussed to furtherly explain the variety of literary presentation in the new age.
