English is a kind of world language whose history is also very long. From ancient English to the modern English, it experiences to turn into the process endlessly. The Norman Conquest in 1066 is an important day which indicate the end of the Anglo-Saxon and the beginning of the Middle Ages.The Hastings Campaign took the Normans into the England and gradually transformed the European development process .Many historian pointed out the Normans'contribution to the British society,law, economy and political structure continuously.They also indicated the impact of English language. As for the influence of the Norman conquest to the development of the English, the academic circles has already involved.But with regard to the domestic academic circle,the historian discuss it from the lingustic aspect. Although some books from abroad linguistics outside perspective on the impact of the Norman conquest on English, still not enough specific, thorough.Under the historical background, this article tries to explore the impact of French to the English from the angle of the social historical culture.The thesis can be roughly divided into 3 parts.Part one,the relation between the England and France before and after the Norman Conquest and the condition of the Norman Conquest. Britain and France have been inextricably linked from the old times to the modern times.There were also war and cooperation between them.During the Middle Ages period, particularly in the time of Norman conquest, there have close trade and religional relations between them. In mutual contacts,exchanges will be in the language, English and French are also naturally interaction. In addition, Norman conquest occurred, the geographical scope that was controlled by the Normans has been changed.And many people emigrated from Normandy to Britain, it took place the mixed phenomenon among the Normans and the British .During this time ,it will produce the mutual exchange of the language and thus caused the impact of French on English.Part two, the impact of the Norman Conquest on English vocabulary in the middle...
