The Boxer Movement is an important historic event in the history of modern China. It sprung up in the Western part of Shandong Province and the border between Shandong and Zhili Province. It spread to North China in which the Boxer Movement reached it's climax in the war against the united armies of eight countries. My study is to discuss the rising of the Boxer Movement in these districts. And I also want to expound the relationship between the boxer and the Qing Dynasty armed forces including Qing army and Tuanlian.The research on the rising of the Boxer Movement depends on these two aspects: the backdrop and the maturity of the principal part of the movement.In the end of the 19th century, the foreign country started partitioning China. So the Chinese Nation faced a dangerous situation and all the classes were roused to save their country. The peasantry joined in this current in the virtue of the traditional Quanhui organization. Not only the common characteristic of Western Shandong made for the burst of the movement, but also did the specialty of each place form the different modalities of it, which were the foundation of the movement in the climax. The natural disaster was an important promoted reason too.The Boxer Movement had three primary origins: Dadaohui in Southwestern Shandong, Meihuaquan-yihequan in Guanxian and the border between Shandong and Zhili Province, Shenquan-yihetuan in Northwestern Shandong. These three organizations and their activities extended in space and ensued in time, therefore this dynamic process founded the whole modality of the movement.In the process of the form of these modalities, the Quanhui organizations were eoneceted with the Qing regional government and local gentleman complicatedly. The Qing armies and the local Tuanlian forces were the direct exhibition of their attitudes. The national and social crisis were very serious at that time, the regional government also want to keep it steady and balance. These three organizations acted as safeguard groups at the beginning, and the Qing armed forces got along with them peacefully.
