This paper mainly discusses about the historical background,formation,influence and essence of American "Boxer Indemnity Scholarship Program" policy in late Qing Dynasty.The policy refers to the historical event that American government made use of the refund of Boxer Indemnity to encourage and subsidize Chinese students in studying abroad in America.Set against the background where China completely became the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society,it is a policy of culture aggression that American government attempted to use to "influence and control" Chinese young intellectuals'mind through education so as to gain economic and political benefits in China.Through the depth profile of the policy,we not only can have further knowledge of the "Boxer Indemnity Scholarship Program" but help young students in building correct conception of history as well as their capability in analyzing and commenting in historical events with historical materialism.This paper can be divided into exordium and text.The exordium mainly introduces the studies of the same subjects home and abroad.In the text,chapter one discusses about the formation's historical background of "Boxer Indemnity Scholarship Program"policy;chapter two refers to its implementation;chapter three draws a conclusion that the policy is of culture aggression through its positive and negative effect.
