The ethnic groups is one of the main questions in the study of Tang dynasty history and An-Shi Turmoil is the turning point of the Tang dynasty and the medieval society. The study of tsa-chung hu- jen involves both nationality and An-Shi Turmoil. The interpretation of many historical events touch upon the understanding of the Ethnic identity of tsa-chung hu- jen, such as the main form of An-Shi group, the Council changes of middle and late Tang dynasty and Huilization of Hebei province. This thesis reinterprets the Race Relations that tsa-chung hu- jen contains. And at the same time, the writer reviews the race of tsa-chung hu- jen and thinks that those people are the main force of An-Shi Turmoil. This thesis contains two parts: The first part does textual research newly through case study on several typical race and species of tsa-chung hu- jen and draws a conclusion that tsa-chung hu- jen belongs to different nations and are descendents of mixed racial strains with different complexions. The second part studies the mixed blood colony of all nationalities taking part in An-Shi Turmoil and believes that those people are in fact the traditionally so-called tsa-chung hu- jen who are the main force of An-Shi rebel army. The writer analyzes the cause and background of that from the angle of economy and religion and points out tsa-chung hu- jen cannot become a nation and dies out in the process of civil strife and abruption.
