The "HUAN PAN WANG YUAN " is the ceremony that the Yao ethnic group offer sacrifices to their ancestor "PAN WANG" for good luck in the future .The "PAN WANG WU" is the Dance in the ceremony .This article focuses upon the "PAN WANG WU " in the "HUAN PAN WANG YUAN " and try to put the dances against historical and cultural background and investigating their relationships ,the author manages to study the "PAN WANG WU " in this region systematically ,comprehensively ,and thoroughly in order to explore the inside information and function covered the " PAN WANG WU "The first part gives a brief review to the cause of title selection, materials and documents upon which the article depends and research methods; Chapter one explains the relationship between "PAN WANG" and the Yao ethnic groups and introduces the resources of "HUAN PAN WANG YUAN"; Chapter two makes a record of "HUAN PAN WANG YUAN" ceremony and gets a detailed analysis of the dances in the ceremony; Chapter three and Chapter four try to discuss the inside information and the function covered the ceremony and dances; Finally, the author illustrates the adoption and variations of the "PAN WANG WU" at present time, and this shows the author's contemplation about how to preserve the Yao folk dances.
