The dissertation takes the 猜测—category verbs indicating in modern Chinese as research target. 猜测—category verbs all reflect the speaker subjective opinion and attitude as to unknown information, and do not express affirmative modality.Taking advantage of previous study methods about analogous words, the dissertation analyzes semantics , syntax and pragmatics of the 猜测—category verbs , in order to find out the common feature and individual feature. On semantics, we start with the basic semantic of these verbs, firstly make a conclusion about its semantic feature, and then focused on their similarities and differences, finally analyze their semantic mode of sentences. And A—category verbs can generate the fundamental sentence mode and derivative sentence II; B—category verbs can generate the fundamental sentence and derivative sentence III, IV and V, generally cannot generate derivative sentence II.On syntax, the dissertation fully describes the syntactic distribution of the 猜测—category verbs. The 猜测—category verbs must be complicated forms when they appear on the position of subject, and when they appear on the position of object they may be simple forms or complicated forms. "觉得","认为" "以为" are forbidden appearing on subject position, object positions attribute position and the position of the front of nominal object. Finally we saw about co-occurrence with the modal adverb, can-with verb and the form verbs. On pragmatics, we observe from four aspects: pragmatic prediction, sentence choices, use of person and periphrastic tone , politeness principle. Then we discover this category verb can all be used in declarative sentences and conjective question sentence, but cannot be used in imperative sentences and exclamatory sentences. In declarative sentences , they often use the first person , and in question sentence, they often use the second person or the third person.
