Since the 1970s, the development of product design and product design practice methods theory of Europe, the United States, Japan and other developed countries, play a decisive role in the rapid development of their economy; In our country, the capacity of design practice has been substantially enhanced, but the vast majority of product design theory and methods imported from abroad, with few our own fresh, system, and the overall design methodology theory. Setting our own product design theory has important significance to improve the competitiveness of our products in international markets and create our design power status.Currently, our graphic design methodology theoretical research relatively mature and using graphic design methodology to do product design is a better way. Drawing outstanding design methodology refined from graphic design methodology and then reprocessing it to make it suitable for product design approach is more conducive to the menu of product performance and appearance.Through my research, comprehensive analysis, systematic study and summarizing, graphic design is extracted from some outstanding design methodology, and then through rational reprocessing, improvement and innovation, coupled with my own view to some design methodology, and eventually developed to a product designs to guide the design methodology theory. The three-dimensional map and planar maps of products as a study subject are separated into the background, color, the main, space, visual center, etc. elements. It is helpful to beautify the 3D appearance of product to use the change of points and lines, echo, rhyme, contrast, and the abstract to combine different design elements. In the base of the functions in accordance with the structure of the product, functional distinctions of rank and button combinations, coupled with just right color design, ultimately create the visual motivation products, so that the products have harmony, aesthetic, generous appearance.This research topic is conducive to the enrichment of our products exterior design methods, establishing the product image of high quality, attractive appearance, and skills superb, improving product "value added";to alleviat the contradictions of slow development of the theory and fast development of design practice;to add product design research methods, the formation of our unique product design methodology and product style, improve the competitiveness of our products in international markets, and enhancing our brand visibility.
