1990s American Independent Film

The paper focuses on the history of American independent films, especially discusses the background and development in Nineties period. Based on more than 30 films and with the method of comparing with the Hollywood films, the paper expatiates upon the subject of the ideology and the concerned narrative way within the independent films of this period.Though we can find some information about American independent films in some local newspapers or magazines, but it is still a blank area in the circle of independent films' research in China. From this paper, we can find a gist to tell what an independent film is and what an independent film should have.
