The Structure Characteristics Of Chinese Folk Music

Period—Music paragraph, is one of main units in music statement structure. This music terminology is new to China which was introduced in the 20^th century and it is called as Duanshi in folk music theory in our country.In recent years, as the study of national music widens and deepens, "period", as a basic term in music form, enters the scope of the study of music form of folk music , which guides us to know and promulgate its characteristic and the rule from the initial domain.This article will be based on the origin, evolution and development of period, and through each kind of analysis of period in Chinese folk music work summaries and the general character and the individuality of periods in Chinese music, and makes comparison of the usage of periods between China and the West . Thus, to study the flexibility of usage of period in Chinese folk music, and to discuss its importance and necessity of the study. The thesis expects to offer a few introductory remarks so as to inspire others to find their valuable ideas by the author's coarse opinion, and will offer a more novel aspect of analysis and the viewpoint for more and more professions to ford into the folk musical form research area in the future.
