| S.Rachmaninov( 1873-1943) is one of the most important figure in Russian Music Culture of the early 20th century. His music stands for the bourgeois' domestic idea of that time, and his composing is closely connected with the Russian traditional literal arts, and hence is the inheritor of the Russian Classic music school. His music has broad tunes, and is easy to follow, due to its indirect quotation of the Russian folk songs and religions melodies. Etude Tableaux are a set of very successful works in the romantic period composed by him, which have vital performing and artistic value. This thesis introduces the life of Rachmaninov, his compositional career, and especially his composition of Etude Tableaux. The focus of this thesis is the musical analysis of Etude Tableaux, which is conducted mainly on the modal, harmony, textural, structure aspects. And then discusses performing essentials and realize. Finally this thesis discusses the value of this work. |
