On The Palace Poetry And Southern Society

Gongti Poem is a genre of literary whose principal parts of description are women and their amorous affairs. It was prevalent in the middle period of the Liang Dynasty, and it was hastened by the peculiar social surroundings of the Southern Dynasties. Moreover, it exerted a significant influence on the southern society. This thesis wants to elaborate these views through three chapters.In the first chapter, the author wants to explain the necessity of Gongti Poem's popularity in the middle period of the Liang Dynasty from these below respects, they are the political conditions of the early Liang Dynasty, the social surroundings of the Southern Dynasties and the advocacy of both the ruler and the poets.In the second chapter, the author wants to analyse the factors of the depression and degeneration of Gongti Poem. It can be explained in three respects, they are the Rebellion of Houjing, the situations and policies of the early Chen Dynasty and the law of the literary development.In the third chapter , the author wants to elaborate its views about the effects to the southern society which was brought by Gongti Poem. These effects can be drawn from two respects. One of them can be descripted as the dejection of spirit, and the other can be told as the feminine tendency for man.
