On YE Xie's Poetic Wisdom

Yexie was an important theorist in the history of literary criticism and esthetics. Many scholars all made researches on him thoroughly. But when I took a comprehensive view of these researches,I have discovered that these researchers seldom probed into the interaction of Yexie's personality and his literature thought macroscopically and had some clearer developmental clues with philosophic views. Therefore,I tried to study Yexie from the angle of Yexie's poetical wisdom in order to learn Yexie completely and deeply in this article. This article consisted of five parts:The first part was the history and present situation of Yexie's researches I introduced and analysed the history and present situation of Yexie's researches in following three aspects: history of life and thought,on the origins of poetry, sorting of literation about Yexie's work. In the process of giving total review and listing every scholar's opinion, I also pointed out the advantages and shortcomings.The second part was the starting point and profound meaning of Yexie's poetical wisdom The wisdom theory and the personality theory offered solid foundation for establishment of Yexie's poetical wisdom. In the first place,I thought its profound meaning rested with that Yexie always tried to integrate philosopher's wisdom with poet's vital force, the ability of felling and imagination. In the next place, its profound meaning rested with that Yexie did his best to attain the harmony of his personality and accomplishment in literature.The third part was the cause of formation of Yexie's poetical wisdom After defining Yexie's poetical wisdom, I tried my best to study the cause of formation of Yexie's poetical wisdom on the basis of the following four aspects: the influence of home environment upon Yexie ,the reality which inspired Yexie, argument and dialogue among many scholars, Yexie's miraculous awakening from life and learning. The fourth part was central clues of Yexie's poetical wisdom Yexie's thought and theory had many potential clues,which included theory of observing both sides of anything, theory on harmony, mysticism which gave us marvellous vision, on the origins of Tao.The fifth part was modernity of Yexie's poetical wisdom Yexie's poetical wisdom showed Yexie's speciality,and enlightened us on our study. These angles and methods of considering all of the literature theory will undoubtedly deepen our cognition.
