"Modernization of the new verse" deeply roots in an ideal to innovate the concept of poetry, which uses the modern way of thinking to rebel against poetic "already being". It is inevitable to find a new form of being which is more suitable in expression of the "poetry essence" , as the limitation of the old form has already been exposed. The advocates of the"modernization of the new verse" were not sure which form carrying the features of modernization, for modernization is only an imagination of the future, and a difficult choice in order to break up the present predicament. All the former achievements have been gained through the comparison of Chinese context with the western context. Thus the localized transformation proves to be more challenging. In a certain sense, this exploration proves to be an initiative work, which starts a new perspective in poetics methodology."Modernization of new verse" in a broad sense is a process of dynamic growth, which is a natural result of the development of the new style. From the beginning, it has been developed with the goal to express the complicated inner world and external world of human beings. The focus of this thesis, i.e. the theory and practice of " modernization of the new verse" which happens in the 40s of the 20th century, signifies to a particular poetics proposition. To be specific, it is a self-renewal process of poetry when the new verse facing overall historical context of the tradition of the symbolic poetry in 30s and the social predicament of the 40s. National Southwestern Associated University possesses a relatively peaceful academic environment, which attracts lots of elites from home and abroad, to provide the possibility of the innovation of the new verse." Modernization of the new verse" , which represented by Yuan kejia, with the traces of Europeanization, is a communication between culture which will happen sooner or later. Through selective reference to the poetic theory of I. E. Richards and T. S. Eliot, Yuan kejia founded the basic framework of " modernization of the new verse" , and he used " realistic, symbolic and Metaphysics" for the composition of particular poems and writing strategy to ensure the "dramatization" of poetry, i.e. to change the former form of poems in readers' minds, to increase the difficulty of understanding poems, in order to reach the stage of dialectical(a curved path), included(including different experience which might merge into poems),dramatic(from the contradictions to harmony), complicated (sometimes appears to be obscure), creative(poem as a symbolic behavior), organic, and modern" ideal state.Of course, different people have their rights of imagination. Under the background of social turbulence, the conflicts between pure arts and politics at that time not only impels the division of Shi Chuang Zao, but also shows the great pressure on poetry and poets brought about by reality. In the end of the article, this thesis expresses what have to say but unable to say in the "quest of modernization" of the new verse: viewpoints decide standpoints.
