Shanghai White Magnolia Theatre Performing Arts Award Aesthetic Research

Shanghai Magnolia Stage Performance Award was named after Shanghai city flower, which features pure white petals. Like the magnolia flower, the award is set to encourage the exploring, pioneering and enterprising spirit of theatrical artists and is created to develop stage performance art and attract more art groups to stage their works in Shanghai. The award also provides another platform on which stage artists from home and abroad can share their experience, learn from each other and make themselves known for audiences all around the country. Winners of the award are picked based on the principle of open, fairness and equal. And in the years ahead, the award will continue to do its best to promote theatrical art in China.This thesis tends to reveal the aesthetic system of this award, to see how people judge stage performance aesthetically.
