Wen-hsin Tiao-lung is the great representation of the tranditional literary theory, it has consummate system and complicate thoughts, and it shows the characters and spirits of our tranditional aesthetics.The problem of the thought source of Wen-hsin Tiao-lung relates the correct acquaintance with the bookmaking, it is the reason that we pay attention to this study. look into the thesis about the subject before, we can see there are many limitations in either content or in form, and we need further study imminently.This thesis studies the subject with the means of the Philology.and my Philology embraces three levels: Firstly, correct the concept of "Tao" in Wei and Jin dynasty. and the concept is understood with the helps of Simatan's Liu jia zhi zhi lue, Ban gu's Han shu, Liu xin's Qi lue. Secondly, excerpt the material from Wen-hsin Tiao-lung literally, and make statistic .Thirdly, base on the material compiled on the first and the second level, we can make analyse about the genres, and each genre represents different use.This thesis includes five chapters:Chapter I, the introduction. There are background and significance, state of the subject studied before, the method and content of the thesis three parts.Chapter II, the literal connection between Wen-hsin Tiao-lung and "Tao".and this part includes: the definition of "Tao", the literal connection between Wen-hsin Tiao-lung and "Tao".the analyse of the literal material.Chapter III, the genres of the literal connection. There are four geners here: the names of the books relate to "Tao", "Tao" ideologists, the concepts and literay quotation in the "Tao" bookmaking, the thoughts of "Tao".and the part of "Tao"ideologists embrace: ideologists in the Han shu, "Xuan xue" ideologists and ideologists with the thought of "Tao" three parts. The part of concepts quotation incluses the quotation of concepts only, quotation for discussion , quotation with modification. And the thought part has two kind of use, quotation only and quotation with modification. Chapter IV, the analyse of each genre, From analyzing, we can have a general understand of the subject. This part is based on the objective material compiled before.Chapter V, the analyse of the connection between "Tao" and Wen-hsin Tiao-lung .from studying these material ,we can have a better understand of the author's attitude towards Wen-hsin Tiao-lung, and furthermore the relation between the book and the "Tao" thought.In the end, the thesis ends with these conclusions: the thought of "Tao" provides important concept and theory for Wen-hsin Tiao-lung, there is so much "Tao" concept in this book, and it contributes to the abundance of Wen-hsin Tiao-lung; The pattern of Wen-hsin Tiao-lung's criticism affects the traditional literary theory greatly, many theorists get the impression of "Tao" mainly from this book; Wen-hsin Tiao-lung is the bridge that leads the thought of "Tao" to the domain of literary theory , and the thought of "Tao" didn't finish the change from the philosophy to the literary theory without Wen-hsin Tiao-lung.
