Narrative, one style of utterance activity, is an individual language construction to a certain object, which is not only a product of experiences and memories, but also an efflorescence of subjective imagination and fictionalization. "Beijing Narrative" is exactly the Chinese modern writers' memories and imaginations, experiences and fictionalizations concerning Beijing, which were about an expression in a literature way. In this kind of significance, "Beijing" is a specific region space. More importantly, "Beijing" is one type of historical and cultural symbol. Therefore, "Beijing Narrative" has the possibility to undertake the complex connection concerning "Local China" and "Modern China".During this historical period, Beijing started the modernized advancement. As a feudal country capital which is ancient and decorous, Beijing has been experiencing too many sufferings with the labor pain in the process of modernized transformation. Other cities of China nearly have never experienced the transformation difficulty since Chinese modern age. Even until today, this kind of transformation also has been continuing. To a certain extent, Beijing has become even a symbol of China. Taking Beijing as the starting point can inspect ancient China's experienced contradictory, pain, confusion, exhaust and hesitation during its modernized transformation in a certain degree. During the modernized reforming time, Chinese modern writers manifested their individual national memory, subjective emotion, national conception, etc. that were produced under Beijing this prototype triggering in their works, and unfolded writers' complexity. Researching writers' creation in Beijing modernization reforming time can inspect these influences to the modernization of Beijing and even China as well as to writers and their works.As the existing space which it itself experiences in, even some cultural memory and the emotion psychology induction object, "Beijing" repeatedly initiates the Chinese modern writer to ponder and feel the national and individual realistic circumstances, Eastern and Western conflict and change in the cultural combination, the vicissitude of the cultural value and the literature esthetic idea. Therefore, the paper selects creative theme as the research angle of view to inspect the narration and imagination concerning Beijing, simultaneously unifying the field of vision and the method related with the subject research, with the purpose of both strongly launching the thesis, and manifesting the poly-implication.Although from the late Qing Dynasty Beijing has already started the passive process of modernization under the West's impact and the situation "not to have the change in situation with three millenniums". Beijing started to be also more painful widely, profounder, more aware complex modern reforming after the eruption of New Culture Campaign. In traditional and modern conflict and the fracture, modern writers' works concerning Beijing are revolving three subjects, which demonstrate the multiple images related "Beijing" for us.Firstly the paper demonstrates the theme of the immersion and the transmission of the rhyme to the old city in the daily experience. The writers painted an outlook after outlook on the charm and elegance of the ancient city site for readers, ubiquitously displaying the cultural inheritance and the life habits and customs of Beijing, which is represented by Lao She with his novels in "the Beijing Style " , which demonstrate this subject on the plane of daily stratification of the resident in Beijing. Or the modern writers savored the traditional writers' cultural mood and the esthetic interest in the Beijing human sentiment local scenery, which are represented like Zhou Zuoren, Yu Dafu, Lin Yutang, etc. The literary intelligentsia who had the temperament and interest of feudal nobles roamed among the ancient city to repose their own traditional bosom into the civilizations and customs of the old city. Because of the invasion of "modern age", this kind of the rhyme to the old city more or less increased naturally the taste of cultural elegy.Secondly, through Beijing Narrative the writers also launched the cultural critique and modern reconsiderations repeatedly. Even if the scholar like Lao She, the writer who harbored some kind of love to the local scenery human sentiment of the old Beijing, also similarly went down to the first floor of the society which was familiar with to him, expressing his experience and examining to a certain cultural chronic disease. In fact, in his writing, he had a concentrated criticism and introspection on both the citizen culture and the old Beijing culture. With a cause for Beijing loading the substantial connotation of traditional China, it shows the inevitability that starts reflection on traditional Chinese culture and the national psychology on culture in Beijing. Modern writers, who were represented by Lao She, had severe painful culture criticism on Beijing,and simultaneously they also had unforgettable cultural yearn for Beijing. This also exactly displays the conjunction of emotion and contradiction, which is difficult to be eliminated, between the literature narrative participation and culture reconsidering. As a result, it caused the initiation, the regular subject, to increase the complex thought connotation.The third creation theme is the agreement with the spirit of the old and new mixed together. Modern writers' different inherent cultural heritage, the ideals of lives and artistic interests made them search for their respective outlet and destinations in entangle in the new with the old China. The writers regarded the pure natural local world as the end-result to seek disappearance of the cultural ideal and the life beauty. Although they were unable to go out of the difficult position in the approval truly, a kind of possibility was provided for the writers involved deep in "the modern age" to relieve their apprehension in approval.
