Li Gang

LiGang, who was a famous minister in Song Dynasty, was acclaimed by his moral integrity of loyalty for the country, however, except for that, some important issues in his life could not be known thoroughly, and his literature has been less researched and analysed. As a crucial character around the period of Nan-Du, it would be more helpful on understanding the history and literature in that time to accomplish a higher gradation that researching LiGang more deeply, which is determined the writing of this thesis.This thesis has two parts. The first part discusses the causes of LiGang' s experience and relationship between LiGang and ZhangJun in order to understand the character and life of LiGang comprehensively. The second part discovers the developing levels of LiGang' s inherent meaning in his life as an individual, the practicing courses of the spirit of"study for oneself" in SongXue and effects on later dynasties from analyzing conscientiously the poems and essays of LiGang.
