As the representative literature of the times, Fu of the Han Dynasty carries significant music culture. Due to the fact that contemporary scholars seems to have no systematic study on the music and dance in Han Fu, this thesis focuses on the specific contents about it. Based on books such as Notes and Commentary of Complete Han Fu by Gong Kechang and Complete Han Fu by Fei Zhengang and a large quantity of unearthed cultural relics of musical instruments, this thesis makes an original study on the musical instruments such as Jin, Shi, Tu, Ge, Si, Mu, Pao, Zhu, which appeared in the music Fu of the Han Dynasty; by referring to A Collection of Ballad Poetry, those about suburb temple music, ease and comfort, songs in antiphonal style, the songs of general name for stringed instrument, songs for miscellaneous ditties, etc. are discussed in the paper; by making use of materials like stone relives of Han portrait, it combs the development of the ancient dances, ages dances, music spirits, musicians and music women etc. in the music Fu of Han Dynasty. Thus, through collecting, differentiating, demonstrating and proving the history, form, and ways of description of the music elements in Han Fu, the thesis makes efforts to restore the splendid music civilization, uncover the acception of Han Music Fu to the ballad singing popular in the Pearl River Delta of Chu, conform the rites system existing during that time, and reflect the rich culture in this great dynasty.
