Chuxiong Yi Clothing Human Color Study

The Cultural-Humanity Color is a research based on cultural study and it is involved in many fields of human activities. It is the result of exploration of human on the beauty of colors. The diversity of human cultures strongly pushes forward the ability that of human, thus the changes and developments of the utility of colors obviously reflect the cultural and creative spirit of human being. The colors also share the responsibilities of accumulating and enriching themselves.This thesis tries to explore the features and cultural implications of Yi people's costume on the basis of the study of colors . This thesis provides a systematic study and illustration on the costume colors of Yi people by way of increasing progressively research route and method. This thesis tries to illustrate the point from four aspects.First, the thesis tries to verify the concept of Cultural-Humanity color by the study of human's utility and cognition of the development of colors so as to produce a clear explanation for the research. It compares the different concepts of Cultural-Humanity color and natural colors. It analyzes the phenomena of the Cultural-Humanity color and the related theories, and tries to express the meaning of the study of the Cultural-Humanity colors.Second, the costume colors are the most outstanding cultural element that can represent the regional people's conception of beauty. The costumes of Yi people in Chuxiong county of Yunnan province contain some typical features of a traditional minority. This paper tries to find out the features of the costumes colors on method of artistic design on the costume colors and to supply some unique study materials for the research and application of Cultural-Humanity colors.Third, the costumes of Yi people is a result of their long historical social practices, the geographical environment, the degree of economic activities and development, the concept of beauty and their customs. It tries to find out the origin of the colors by study the historical changes and the rich cultural elements in colors by the study of minority psychology, geographical environment, religious worships and minority artisanship. The purpose of this paper is to show the several levels of the colors of minority groups on the foundation of the above study so as to promote people's intuition of colors and enlarge the definition of colors.Fourth, this thesis tries to discuss the possibility of setting up a color coordinate of minorities on the study of the changing course and cultural-humanity features of the costume colors of Yi people.It also tries to provide a wider system of colors on the above study and the origin of colors creativity on this design. It also provides a method of compare and reference for the study of minority regional color studies that will make our study of minority art more practical; and it also set up a new room of thought for the future color art research.
