This thesis is divided into nine parts. The first part is a foreword; it mainly elaborates the significance of dialogue among cultures and religions in today's milieu, it also briefly presents research related to this subject in China and abroad. The second part proposes that dialogue among religions and cultures is the essential requirement of the development of religion and culture; this part also points out the significance and urgency of dialogue. The third part elaborates the meaning of religious dialogue, attempts at religious dialogue in history, ideal models of religious dialogue, and the difficulties encountered. The fourth part analyzes the shortcomings of traditional dialogue models, discusses the meaning of 'diversity and whole, 'in an effort to find a way toward the real dialogue. The fifth part talks about the language and ethics which should be followed in the dialogue. The sixth part mainly talks about several ways of making the dialogue specific and easy to carry out. The seventh part relates to the current situation in China , It discusses the function of Confucianism in building a harmonious society with today's background of globalization and modernity, and what the world can learn from Chinese Confucianism. The eighth states that the foundation for communication between religions and cultures, it is the suffering shared by human beings and their environment, Global ethics is the lowest common denominator for communication, in addition, the peace of the world also depends on the growth of mankind's spirit. The last part is the conclusion of this article, looking forward with optimism to the world's future.
