Hanfeizi is one of the most important writings in warring states period. With the total 100 thousand words, this history work has a large lexical store, especially the abundance of antonyms. The thesis at large depicts the 153 pairs of adjective antonyms in Hanfeizi, and deals with the definition and judging principles. The study based on the inductive, stylistic, comparative methods. The writer describes the facts about the adjective antonyms though the analysis of type, semantic relation, relative relation and characteristics, and gets the conclusion. The thesis contains six chapters. The first two chapters introduce the current research, theories and literature review. Chapter three analysis and categorize the adjective antonyms. In chapter four, the writer summarizes the components about the adjective antonyms from the words meaning sources. Chapter five summarizes corresponding relations of the adjective antonyms from the semantic aspect. Chapter six concludes the characteristics of the adjective antonyms.
