Attribute-head phrases structure is frequently used in Chinese and Indonesian languages. No matter whether it is in the spoken or the written language, the usage of the attribute can accurately and vividly express the language, and make it has a stronger persuasive and communicative power. This word order structure is the fundamental differences between Chinese and Indonesian languages, so it becomes one of the difficulties for Indonesian learners who learn Chinese language, and vice versa.Most of the linguists have done research on Chinese and Indonesian attribute-head phrases, but just a few of them have done the comparison between Chinese and Indonesian attribute-head phrases. This thesis aims to compare Chinese and Indonesian attribute-head phrases, in order to find out their similarities and the differences. By doing the comparative study, this thesis is expected to bring a great benefit for teaching and studying Chinese and Indonesian language as a second language and also for the translation.This thesis is divided into five parts:Chapter One, Introduction, consists of the researcher's aim and background, an introduction to Indonesian language and to attribute-head phrases.Chapter Two is the comparison of Chinese and Indonesian attribute-head phrases structures. It is the comparison of both structure elements, the comparison word order of attribute and head in Chinese and Indonesian, and the comparison of the attribute-head phrase position changes.Chapter Three discusses about comparison of the Chinese and Indonesian attribute-head phrases, based on its grammar function.Chapter Four is about comparison of Chinese and Indonesian attribute in meaning direction.The last chapter, Chapter Five, discusses the comparison of Chn-Ind attribute-head phrases for translation golden rule.
