MBTI's full name is Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and it is developed as a personality test on the basis of Jung's psychological types. This study was conducted to develop a Chinese short form of MBTI (MBTI-CS) with good reliability and validity, with the same structure, and with half items of the original version, by the way of comprehensive literatures and statistics, on the basis of Chinese version MBTI form M in 1998.The present study is comprised of 4 small studies. The first study presents the means, procedures and results of developing the abbreviated MBTI, and develops a 40-items MBTI-CS test; The second study researches the psychometric characteristics, including item analysis, reliability and validity analysis, and the result shows that the MBTI-CS has a good reliability and a good validity; The third study makes use of a more concrete statistic way to analyze the structure of the newly abbreviated MBTI test and the result supports the MBTI-CS has a good and stable structure; the fourth study puts the MBTI-CS to research the relationships between psychological type and career decision-making self-efficacy(CDMSE) of the college students, and the result shows there is a difference of CDMSE between different types of college students, especially shows that the score of Introversion type and Feeling type students is the smallest. Result provides a guide to the job-hunting of the college students.The conclusion of this article assures that this study has its own characteristics and its contribution to MBTI, limitation and suggests for the future study are follows.
