Researching Yuhua's works opens a new door of studies for further exploration of culture and life; simultaneously it also clearly identifies the common characteristics of Yuhua's novels and other writings that explaines his role as a vanguard in the field of Jiangnan River culture.This thesis believes that Yuhua's childhood experiences have affected his style of work to a very great degree; simultaneously, the Jiangnan River culture has subtly nourished the character and style of the gentle and beautiful small towns of this region; Yuhua's poems watered the rigid culture, the tough river character culture and the value it placed on violence and martial arts.
