Contemporary literature also demonstrates that the Jiangnan River culture has distinct moral character and style which serves as the background for many novels. Wang Zengqi, Lu Wenfu, Su Tong, Gao Xiaosheng, Li Hangyu, Ye Zhaoyan and others are writers who through their exquisite prose have all demonstrated the unique Jiangnan River culture's character and style. The disposition, the esthetic appeal, art styling and thinking modes, and means of expression of these writers displays they have all been influenced by the Jiangnan River's traditional culture. What is most exceptional about Yuhua is that to date literary critics have been overly occupied by the influences of vanguard and western literature on his work such as this, and therefore has not received the recognition of researchers of Jiangnan River culture. His intricate creation of small seaside towns and their cultural characters and styles have continuously lacked deserved attention.This thesis carefully examines Yuhua from the perspective of Jiangnan River culture researcher. It examines Yuhua's ability to create and the thematic choices of his stories; it offers significant connotations and literature resources as further support. Intrinsic connections in nature, the humanities, art and demeanor unfold Yuhua's valuable contributions to the literature of the Jiangnan River culture. Researching Yuhua's works opens a new door of studies for further exploration of culture and life; simultaneously it also clearly identifies the common characteristics of Yuhua's novels and other writings that explaines his role as a vanguard in the field of Jiangnan River culture.This thesis believes that Yuhua's childhood experiences have affected his style of work to a very great degree; simultaneously, the Jiangnan River culture has subtly nourished the character and style of the gentle and beautiful small towns of this region; Yuhua's poems watered the rigid culture, the tough river character culture and the value it placed on violence and martial arts. This individual's literature and accomplishments are significant parts of contemporary culture; Yuhua's style of novel creation presents the common customs of certain radical and progressive forces, and to a certain degree these forces have also affected Yuhua's creations and achievements. |
