Because of his profound knowledge, independent and noble personality, and his strong faith of Buddhism, Hui Yuan gained respect and support of the emperor, the ministers, the anchorites and other monks. He kept his distance to politics to emphasize the independence of Buddhism; His wisdom attracted the anchorites so the regional literature of the Lu Mountain which advocated "leave the mortal world and abandon its glory" could be founded surrounds him. Hui Yuan and his students not only be absorbed in Buddhism , but also be keen on poetic prose creation ,the poems written by Hui Yuan and his students had influenced the "Mountain-River Poems". Although only a few of their "Mountain-River Poems" were found popular, but you can still tell their influence. The atmosphere of this literature had offered the general back ground for Tao Yuanming's poems. This embodies in Tao Yuanming's poetic prose subject on one hand , another aspect embodies in taking different ways which nevertheless lead to the common destination that Tao Yuanming and Hui Yuan come to realize to life.
