The most significant difference between the western aesthetics of the 20th century and the traditional classical aesthetics lies in that all schools of the 20th century had stopped their metaphysical pursuit of the nature of the Beauty. God, Newton and Principle all had faded away. In this century, the relationship between "heart" and "matter" replaced the inquire of "what is beauty" , and it became a widely concerned and discussed issue. Having absorbed the essence of a variety of aesthetical schools of the early 20th century and integrated the latest findings of modern physics, phenomenology and structuralism, the gestalt aesthetics innovatively advanced "the heterogeneous isomorphism theory" . This theory, starting from the mutual relationships between heart and matter, individuals and the world, tried to account the generation of beauty and aesthetics. It integrated the western and oriental aesthetics, the classical and modern art into a logic whole, and, meanwhile, made a combination and integration of the existing theories of heart-matter relationship. This theory marked a significant new start of western aesthetics, initiating a new approach for the study on modern aesthetics. This thesis, combining the employment of logic and analysis, will develop the "heterogeneous isomorphism theory" in a logical way. The essence of this theory will be used to interpret the generation and existence of beauty and aesthetics in real life and artistic activities. Meanwhile, this theory will be compared with other relevant aesthetical theories, and the contrastive analysis will further highlight its historical significance and theoretical value.
