"YinXiu" belong to the part of "analyses the affection and ornate diction" of the whole theory system of Liu Xie's "The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons" . Because in the course of copying, the most contents lost, its mended writing, quoted passage and the main purpose seeking have quite dispute in the circle of "dragon studies". The purpose of this paper lies in thorough excavate the theoretical and aesthetic value that "YinXiu" contended. The author does the research of "YinXiu" problem from four aspects: creation theory, style theory, category theory and acceptation theory. With regard to general character of the theory of "YinXiu" and the western theory of literature and art, the author will only compare them simply.The first chapter will discuss the relation of Yin Xiu in writing from the angle of literature creation after pursue Yin and Xiu. The second chapter will pursue the aesthetics pursuer of YinXiu from style. Combine to the competition of "ancient and today" in Qi and Liang dynasty, Liu Xie's thought of ''compromise" and theory of "inherit and make innovations", "YinXiu" embodies the aesthetics pursue of a kind of ideal literature after Liu Xie compromised the type of ancient and today's writing, it is a kind of elegant and handsome aesthetics style that on the foundation of language style. In the third chapter, the paper will discuss the relationship of meaning, image, artistic conception and YinXiu in the category. In relation to implication, Liu Xie thought that there was a end to the words, but not to their message. At the same time, in order to communicate "implication" better, he also asked language to embody the accuracy in altitude scope as far as possible. In its relation to image, the meaning should hide and the figure should clear, it can form bright artistic image if both united. On the relation with artistic conception, the difference can be seen obviously, the theory of YinXiu can only be said that have made theoretically preparation for artistic conception. In the fourth chapter, from the angle of acceptation, with the aid of "vision" and "sense of taste", the author will pursue the affection of artistic communications and analyses the difference of YinXiu—reappearance and expression in literature communications. At last, this chapter will analyze the influence of YinXiu to Chinese ancient poetry and drawing and compare the difference of Chinese and Western theory of poetry and drawing.
