Since the year of 1937 when the war of Anti-Japanese broken up, the American movies' target market had been moved from the eastern of china to ChongQing. As the capital of China in the war-time, ChongQing was still the base for publishing and playing Hollywood movies during the Anti-Japanese War Period.When we read the news papers published in ChongQing from the year of 1937 to 1945, we would find out that Hollywood movies have taken up half-part of the movie market in ChongQing. Hollywood movies and their culture standpoints had held an important status in the research of ChongQing's movie history during the capital time. The dissertation collected and arranged the 8 Hollywood movie companies' marketing records to analyze their strategies of movie publishing, featuring, leasing, advertising. The social background, international relationship and political power of that time were also involved in. The dissertation also intended to reconstruct the American movies' general profiles of that time, and to draw a general picture of their culture outlines and political standpoints, and to provide an important reference for the studying of Hollywood movies in china during the war time.The dissertation was consisted of 6 parts. The first part was Introduction discussing: introduced the purpose, methods and importance of the dissertation. The following part analyzed the social background, under which the Hollywood movies located in ChongQing market. Then, the next chapter described the situation of the Hollywood movies' market values of publishing and playing in ChongQing. The fourth part tried to dig out the Hollywood movies' economic protection and the culture purpose from the civil action and copyright announcement. The fifth part collected the American movies' brief story to analyze the American movies marketing strategy and ideology purpose. The last parts analyzed the Hollywood movies' advertisement and promotion strategy to find out the American culture penetration. Most of the materials and statistic data of the dissertation were referred to ChongQing Archives.
