Atheism and humanism are the prevailing ideologies and also the problems in this era. Their source is rooted in the criticism of the theism of the Middle Ages. What is the stance of the Chinese thinkers on the previous issues? Liberals and Marxists, on atheistic ground, support unanimously humanism. The standpoint of the neo-confucianists and traditional confucianists is moral humanism, and they neither deny nor support theism and atheism. The unique feature of the Catholic Neo-scholasicism is that the philosophers of this school have religious beliefs in Catholicism, and are not against modernism.Li Zhen(Li Zhenying) is an outstanding philosopher of the Taiwan Neo-scholasicism.This paper introduces Li Zhen's Humans and the God—On Chinese and Western Atheism, which assembles his reflection on Chinese and Western atheism. Li Zhen's discussion on how contemporary philosophers resolve this problem gives us a glimpse of the various opinions of western philosophers.
