Wonderful Work Of The Ming And Qing Dynasties Female Literature

On the basis of Liu Rushi's poems, ci poems, prose poems and correspondences, the thesis makes a deep, overall and systemic exploration of her works, the relationships between her works and the times, traditional cultures.The thesis includes three parts: introduction, body and conclusion.In the part of introduction, the thesis shows the importance of Liu Rushi and her works in the study of female literature, due to such a fact that the research of Liu Rushi and her works is carried out weakly without objective, overall and multi-directional analyses. Her works revealed female talent and made a great contribution to female literature during the period of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Women's literature during the period of Ming and Qing Dynasties represented by her works played a role in pioneering and ushering in a new era in the history of female literature. The independent personality and free spirit in her works were the awakening of female subject conciousness, which was a harbinger and integrated part in morden female awareness.In the body, the thesis analyses Liu Rushi and her works from the perspectives of life, thoughts and creation. The first part tells that she was a lady full of legends. She established close relationship with two eminent persons in the history all her life. One was Chen Zilong, the other was Qian Qianyi. The communication with several scholars and the choice of Chen Zilong revealed her original insight and wisedom, and an ability to distinguish between right and wrong on cardinal issues. She was a saver of Qian Qianyi. Her behaviors reflected Chinese scholars'values at a historic moment of life-and-death. To be more praiseworthy, she never abandoned Qian .On the contrary, she tried her best to influence and inspire him. As a result, Qian sided with the righteous national cause and took part in the Anti-Qing-and-Back-to-Ming Movement together with her. Liu Rushi pledged stead devotion to the Movement and never regreted for it, showing her noble character and quality.The second part is to tap the spiritual connotation from Liu Rushi's works to reveal her outstanding character. Firstly, it is her stong-willed, independent and self-esteemed quality. Secondly, it is her unique character, which is getting rid of womanliness and making friends on a equal basis. Thirdly, it is her outstanding talent. Together with Chen Zilong, she re-established the style of describing emotions in ci poem and rectified the dejected style during Ming Dynasty. She also helped Qian Qianyi to proof one part of his works, A Poetry Collection In Different Periods. Fourthly, she had a roving brave spirit, manliness and mind of the rise and fall of the nation is the concern of every citizen, all"women"share in the responsibility for the fate of their country.The third part of the body analyses and sums up the artistic features of her poems and ci poems. Firstly, her poems were like paintings. She was good at introducing painting skills into poems to improve their charms. Secondly, her choice of words was unique, and her application of allusions was very natural. Thirdly, her style was both restrained and heroic, both elegant and broad-minded. Fourthly, she got rid of embelishments, and established a natural style.The fourth part is about her correspondences and prose poems. Her correspondences belonged to the category of essays in the late Ming Dynasty. Among her prose poems, only three ones are spread. They are Qiu Si Fu, Bie Fu, and Men Luo God Fu, which have different characteristics respectively.In conclusion, Liu Rushi was integrated with heroic spirit, literary talent and moral integrity. She was a poineerer of Women's Movement, with independent and free spirit and putting it into practice. With new ideas, her works surpassed sentimental literature. Moreover, she was a strong-willed woman with outstanding talent and charm. She spaned over two dynasties'time, so the study of her and her works is of rich humanlism to explore female literature and its cultural value. Her works emphsized not only women's emotions but also their spiritual value, which exerts a deep influence on female literature.
