In the international society after the cold war, the essential factors in international relations have gone through some changes. One of them is that the position of culture becomes much higher. Culture is the traditional factor in international relations, but its importance and influence is different during different periods. Generally speaking, if political or economic or military factor plays an important role, the influence of culture will become slim; whereas the opposite. The end of the cold war just has the influence of political and military means reduced, and has the cultural influence increased. The outstanding phenomenon of this new trend is the implement of"Cultural Hegemony". In the western countries, especially the United States of America have strengthened the use of culture to influence international affairs. This paper places emphasis on cultural hegemony ideological function of the United States. On this basic, it makes a particular description of the major genre of the Culture Hegemony thesis. Such as the new Gramscism, Cultural Imperialism, History-end Thesis, Civilization-clash thesis and new Imperialism. The existence of Culture Hegemony is not only a history trend, but also a choice of the United State. The Unite States hangs on its utterly predominance of economy and military to promote the culture hegemony in the whole world.The purpose of this thesis is not to just make a simple description of a power system which is strengthened by itself, but to try to find out the point that is frail and lean to change. So that we can does some useful work for China to constitute a more favorable culture strategy.
