Before the Jia-Wu War, the relationship of China, Korea and Japan was especially complicated. In 1868, Japan began to choose a capitalism way to govern its country though Ming Zhi Reform, In order to fulfill the materials and markets that its capitalism required, Japan strengthened its steps to invade other countries and Korea which is an important place in Asia Continent became its first goal. But Korea was under the control of the late Qing Dynasty at that time, if Japan wanted to interfere into Korea, it would be a threat for the benefit of Qing Dynasty. From this sense, the traditional Zong-Fan relation was definitely a huge obstacle for Japan which was not strong enough to resist Qing Dynasty. And it made Japan realize that if it wanted to occupy Korea thoroughly, it had to cut off the traditional relation between Korea and Qing Dynasty. So Japan used legal cheating diplomatic way to negotiate with Qing Dynasty to minimize the impact Qing Dynasty upon Korea and on the other hand Japan prepared for a war positively in order to realize its ambition that it could swallow Korea thoroughly when it came into the best chance. However Qing Dynasty which was downfallen at that time kept a avoided and protected diplomacy in order to maintain the 200 years' Zong-Fan relation with Korea, it tried it best to avoid to fight with Japan directly in case that Japan enlarged its control in Korea. The flabbiness of Qing Dynasty in its diplomacy helped the aggress of Japan. With the decline of Qing Dynasty, in 1894, Japan which was fully ready began Jia-WuWar between China and Japan, considering Korea Jia-Wu Peasant War as a good excuse. In this war, Korea was the biggest victim. Though there was a little struggle, because of its ability it acquired little. Though there was some help from Qing Dynasty, Oing Dynasty itself was not able to help, so Korea became a main battle field of China and Japan. This thesis includes three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. The first part introduces the trend, purpose, significance, motive and methods of this study.Chapter Two mainly illustrates the diplomacies which China and Japan upon Korea.
