By analyzing John Steinbeck's East of Eden, we can see the way he intervened his work reasonably. John, sophisticatedly hiding behind the intersubjective flow between implied author, narrator, characters and the text, employed various rhetorical techniques such as narrative voice, narrative perspective, telling and showing, and ultimately reached the destination of advocating both thematic and moral effects of rhetoric in fiction.
