Prokofiev Third Piano Concerto Study

Sergey Prokofiev (1891-1953) is a famous composer and pianist in Soviet Union in the 20th century. He created the third piano concerto in 1917-1921, which was widely acknowledged as one of the most inspiring and successful piano works of composers. This paper mainly studied the creative characteristics in terms of style in this work and how to concretize the relations between inheritance and innovation in terms of creative techniques; Basing on the study, the author propose some valuable advice. This paper may inspire us to further discuss the essential factors of Prokofiev's creative style and to grasp its characteristics in style at the performance.
