Modern Chinese Psychological Verb Semantics, Syntax

The textual research object is the semantic and grammatical peculiarity of the psychology verb in modern Chinese. It mainly divides into following three parts:The first part distinguishes 94 psychology verbs through a final frame"(NPh)+in heart+(to+NP)+ +(NP/VP/ AP /Clause)".Then we carry on depiction to the grammatical function of these psychology verbs.Finally according to the semantic characteristic and the syntax function ,we divide these psychology verbs into three typical sorts:the mood/emotion class,the thought/cognition class,the conation/ actuation class,and obtain the definition for the psycholoy verb:the psychology verb is one kind of verb which expresses a psychological response about one person to another person/thing.In the second part,we suppose that a complete psychology verb semantic frame include three participants"Experiencer,Object,Cause"and analyse their syntax performances initially. Then we point out that between these three participants and the psychology that psychology verb expresses , there separately exists controllable/non-controllable relation,involved/un-involved relation,cause and effect relation. Finally through the psychology verb semantic frame,we generalize four kinds of psychology verb semantic structures and two sorts of psychology verb semantic and grammatical structures. We simplify the psychology verb semantic and grammatical structure as follows:"Cause+Experiencer+Vpsy+Object"and point out there exists three prices psychology verb.The third part analyses five semantic characteristics of the psychology verb"state,activity,magnitude,non-selfchange,transitivity".And through the comparison,we obtain the"verb-adjective continuum"as follows:movement behavior verbï¹¥conation/actuation class psycho-verbï¹¥thought/cognition class psycho-verbï¹¥mood/emotion class psycho-verbï¹¥nature adjective.
