Through the analysis of the development law and the aesthetic characteristic of landscape paintings, the dissertation probed the weakening and pattern orientation of the traditional line drawing in landscape paintings, which has become an significant variant in the evaluation of landscape paintings. Based on the classification and sorting of the traditional line drawings, the dissertation analyzed the cause of the weakening trend in line drawings and elaborated the pursuit of modern spirit and the emphasis on the tendency in the innovation for a novel horizon in a great variety of means and patterns embedded in individualized patterns. It is through deepening observation of nature, the improvement of presentation and the ,maturity in techniques of Chinese brush strokes and Chinese ink in the landscape painters that landscape patterns have come out to be one of evaluation standards of the important patterns. There is no doubt that line drawing is of great significance for landscape patterns, as it is an important standard for classifying paintings and aesthetic features. The pursuit of the individuality of landscape patterns must be based on line drawing. The modern transformation of the lone drawing in landscape paintings must not be at the expense of devaluation in arts quality. It is essential for the improvement of arts standard of landscape paintings that painters purify the spiritual implication in brush and ink when they are in pursuit of landscape pattern individuality.
