| This article is a research about video installation from the viewpoint of reception aesthetics. In the framework of the "Calling Structure " , it talks about the reception pattern of video installation in five parts: space and environment; material; idea and manner; audience participation and meaning synthesis. Through the study of video installation's history and the reception patterns of other arts in previous age, I think ,although video installation's reception pattern have inherited some idea from the advance guard, it also has its own characteristics. To sum up, because video installation combines characteristics of installation art and video art, its calling structure has complexity. The article believes that, it is on the basic of apposition and collage of the image narration fragments and installation's space context, visual experience became strange, audiences' memory and imagination became active, and video installation so turn into Art. All this have no difference from classic arts in nature. The novelty of video installation's technology is not the novelty of its art, its essential value is also communicate conception. |
