With the progressing of the College English Teaching Reform, a research regarding teaching and learning in the backdrop of a new teaching mode has been brought in the limelight. A new trend featured by computer network-assisted English teaching method has found its way into College English Teaching. With modern information technology and cyber technology in particular serve as a basis for the new English Teaching mode, English teaching has oriented towards a more personalized, time and space free learning and self-learning direction. The new teaching mode embodies the principle of integrating pragmatism, culture, and interest into English teaching, which in turn have greatly triggered enthusiasm of both teaching and learning and which have guaranteed the adoption of student-centered teaching mode during the teaching process.As has stated in the Basic Requirements for College English Teaching, "One of the vital symbols for measuring the success of College English Teaching Reform is the formation of the students' personalized learning mode and the advancement of the students' self-learning ability. Then, questions arise: After the three-year-long implementation of College English Teaching Reform policy, are our learners' changed towards our expected orientation with regard to their learning strategy under the new teaching mode? Are there problems existing in our learners' learning strategy? If the answer is "yes", how will we handle these problems? In response to the above issues, this paper makes an attempt to reveal the status quo of our college students' learning strategy in the backdrop of cyber English learning environment after conducting a series of investigation and research.Firstly, this paper makes both quantitative and qualitative analysis of college students' learning strategy in the backdrop of cyber learning environment through a number of questionnaires and interviews. It exposes the current situation of cyber learners' employment of the six English learning strategies. Then, it probes into the correlation between learning strategies and other factors involving gender, individual interest, study objectives, time spent on study per week and the employment of cyber technology.Secondly, this paper addresses the existing problems in the Cyber English Learning Strategies as reflected in the survey. Among all those problems, learners are found to be especially incapable of mastering indirect learning strategies. And the phenomenon of lack of adequacy in mastering the specific strategies also found its place.Last but not the least, this paper also offers a probable solution stemming from the factors of learning environment and knowledge skills to the problems arising from the cyber-learning strategies under the principle of a systematic method of education technology and with the employment of language acquisition theories as well as self-learning theories in an hope that it may be of some help for those who want to better the current situation of college students' cyber English learning strategies.
