It is necessary for the new century higher education to cultivate college students with highquality and of overall development. As an important part of the higher education, the higherprofessional training school mainly aims to foster students who can apply advanced skill totheir future work. It is quite different from ordinary universities. In order to cultivatehigh-quality students with both ability and political integrity, we should not only emphasizetheir expertise, but also strengthen their quality education. According to the decision of the CPCCentral Committee and the State Council on deepening education reform and comprehensivelypromoting quality education, we must make moral, intellectual, physical and aestheticeducation naturally united in the educational activities of various links so as to practise qualityeducation. Only in this way, can we promote the all-round development and healthy growth ofstudents. Aesthetic education is an indispensable part for students' comprehensive development.Without it, students are unable to realize their harmonious development and comprehensiveenhancement. In quality education, aesthetic education performs a special function, whichmakes it different from the moral intellectual and physical education. Specifically speaking,aesthetic education may cultivate and improve students' comprehensive quality including theaesthetic quality and realize the perfect personality. The establishment of public artisticcurriculum is a major way for colleges to implement aesthetic education. It has become anindispensable curriculum in higher education. Nowadays, the public artistic education incolleges has improved a lot on such aspects as school leaders' attention, the curriculumimplementation condition and the class-odd literary arts activity. This paper tries to make aninvestigation into the implementation of the art education in professional training schools and tofind out its strengths and weaknesses in this domain, increase the intensity of art education andmake its model more suitable to students in order to improve their overall quality and to fosterstudents with both ability and political integrity.
