With the fast development of the basic music education, music education in university as an important approach of quality education has the necessity to make a step further. Based on the author's high school teaching practice and the questionnaire carried out among the students, this essay focuses on fundamental music theory and solfeggio courses aiming to analyze the contradiction between students' music fancy and their low musical aptitude. All data collected from the students reflects the contradiction obviously that students are keen on music learning and want to know the relative knowledge and skills on instict. While , at the same time, they dislike the courses concerning fundamental music theory and solfeggio.Heavily colored by instrumental and technological hue, traditional fundamental music theory and solfeggio courses lead to monotomous mechanical exercises, which eventually diminish the students' interests as well as their imagination and creativity. Taking into consideration the objects of music education in universities are non-music majors, the author puts out the idea of combining two courses into one common music course by narrating the relationship between fundamental music theory course and solfe ggio course first. And then demonstrates their great unity and the quality of complement to each other . meanwhile, the essay narrates the author's principles, contents, methods, progresses as well as evaluation systems of music teaching after the combination. The eaasy ends up with the author's expectation of finding out the acceptable frame for music education in the universities, which is to cultivate the students' sensual, visual aptitude and stimulate them to collect the musical language by adopting diversified teaching methods under the current situation so as to develop the students' aesthetic judgement in music learning.On the basis of putting theory into practice, the author collects the data through comparison study, questionaire analysis and face to face interviews. With all these objective data, the author advocates the revolution of music education so as to provoke the students' greatest interest in music learning. And improve the quality of music education in universities, which whould efficiently result in sound aesthetic education at last.
