Since humans started makings crafts from stones, the means of human production have been gradually improved from primitive to handwork crafting. As time progresses, the traditional Chinese lacquer painting has become an important platform of Chinese history and culture. This entitles the later people to feel and to realize the possibility of the early people creating brilliant civilization while inheriting and transcending the tradition. Although, due to historical reasons, Chinese lacquer painting has been depressed and prospered for several times, the brilliant design insights inside the lacquer techniques cannot be what we ignore or discard. This article attempts to research and analyze the "dry lacquer" in the Chinese lacquer techniques, exploring the advancement and creativity of dry lacquer and analyzing its inspirations to and effects on modern design.
